As we get ready to head into the last month of the year I can't help but reflect on the past 11 months. There are so many new things, ideas, dreams and transitions that were birthed this year. I also thought about the difficult things and I realized most of the beautiful things were birthed from the difficult things...
When we begin to make the connection between beautiful and difficult, gratitude is produced. The difficult times will help you appreciate the times when everything seemed to be running smoothly. The difficult times will help you appreciate the person you are becoming. The difficult times will help you appreciate who is there surrounding you. Lastly, the difficult times remind you difficulties don't last always and it could always be worse. In fact, someone somewhere is experiencing much worse.
We have so much to be grateful for, life is not as bad as it may seem. Gratitude is something that should be incorporated into our daily practice. We are constantly surrounded by so much negativity that without gratitude and gratefulness within, we will fall into the trap... Gratitude is not linked to one situation or circumstance going the way we want it to, but it's linked to knowing that no matter how things turn out it will be for the best. Finding the good in every moment and opportunity allows gratitude to flourish. It reminds you that no matter what you've gone through, you are still alive to practice gratitude.
What are you grateful for? The big things and the small things...
